Who We Are

We are dedicated and highly experienced careers advisors who are committed to inspire and guide young people towards rewarding careers outside urban centres, fostering an appreciation for the diverse and fulfilling pathways available in regional and rural industries such as agriculture, forestry, and fisheries.

Through personalised guidance, industry connections, and experiential learning opportunities, we aim to empower students to consider and pursue fulfilling careers that contribute to the vibrancy and sustainability of regional and rural communities.

Our Leadership Team:

Mitch Arvidson - has worked in a number of fields prior to teaching, giving him an excellent practical understanding of the world of work. He has held numerous positions within education for the past 20 years before finding his home in careers education, where he has created numerous programs to engage students. His Principal’s Directorate Award states “Arguably Mitch’s most important role is teaching, supporting and inspiring disengaged students.” He is also currently on the board of Canterbury Rugby Union Club.

Kallie Georghiou - has excelled in her work as a Careers Adviser in public high schools since the 1996. Nominated for Australian of the Year, the Pride of Australia Award and a finalist for Careers Adviser of the Year for her outstanding work with young people in need of support. Murat Dizdar - now Secretary of NSW Dept of Education - wrote she is “a remarkable educator who continues to display the highest commitment, work and educational morality… her work is characterised by her attention to detail, personalised case management approach and considerable interagency connection which generates student, family and community confidence”. Prior to teaching Careers she taught languages and was part of the Modern Greek syllabus and HSC exam committees for a number of years.

We at Agriculture Careers Australia acknowledge the traditional owners and custodians of country throughout Australia and acknowledge their continuing connection to land, waters and community. We pay our respects to the people, the cultures and the elders past, present and emerging.
